The Jay County Patriots won Tuesday’s triple track meet with Adams Central and South Adams, scoring 65.5 points to just edge out the 64 of South Adams. Adams Central, participating in their first outdoor meet of 2023, were third with 25.5 points.
Meet Highlights
-Adrienne McKean ran her fastest 100 of the season and finished faster than last year’s sectional-winning time to take first place in 12.5. McKean also ran her season best to win the 200 and then she took first place in the 400.
-Jessica Myers ran her season best in the 400 for South Adams.
-Gabi Landis won the 800 for Adams Central with the fastest time of any county runner so far in 2023.
-Kalle Trausch (SA) cut seven seconds off her time last week to finish third in the 800 and cut more time off her mile time to finish third in that event.
-Adams Central’s Madison Gerber was unchallenged in the two mile as she cruised to victory by more than 90 seconds in a time of 13:15.
-SA’s Kapri Bixler was the winner in the 100 hurdles with a season-best time of 16.82.
-After finishing just behind Bixler in the 100 hurdles, Ava Schmit beat her teammate in the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.97. She holds the fastest time in that event so far this season for county hurdlers.
