The City of Decatur’s property tax rates for 2027 will be $1.5067 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation.
Following a public hearing in which no public comments were aired, city council recently approved on one reading a $15,127,030. budget for next year.
A final vote and expected approval is scheduled for the Oct. 6 council meeting.
Once final approval is given, city Clerk-Treasurer Eran Hackman will submit the 2027 budget and the adopted ordinance to the state Department of Local Government Finance for its review.
The new budget represents an increase of less than 1% over the current budget of $14,579,622.
Included in the 2027 budget is a 3% pay raise for city employees. Health insurance will rise 5.8%.
