Decatur’s city swimming pool has had more than its share of problems in recent weeks, so it has been decided to extend the pool’s season.
Parks Superintendent Cara Gerber announced at city council’s latest meeting that the pool’s closing day will be Tuesday, August 11.
North Adams students return to classes the next day, she added.
Also, Gerber said, “We’re going to try (opening) weekends until Sept. 9,” noting that attendance would be a determining factor.
CARDBOARD BOATS: Cardboard boat races will be held at the pool on Sunday, August 9, 5:30 to 6 p.m., with a start time around 6.
Boaters will be vying for seven awards.
