FORT WAYNE – The Canterbury Cavaliers used station-to-station baseball and timely hitting to frustrate the Adams Central pitching staff and pull away late for a 7-6 home victory.
The home team put runs on the board in four of their six innings, but they never scored more than two in an inning, always seeming to come up with a blooper into the outfield for a two-out single.

Jets pitchers allowed eight singles. Hitting from the third spot in the lineup, JP Rohwer provided the power with a double and a triple for a three-for-three night. He threw all seven innings, as well, striking out three and allowing just three earned runs.

Chandler Voglewede pitched into the fifth inning for Adams Central before being relieved by Barrett Collier, who got the Jets out of the fifth.

Jacob Miller threw a hitless sixth in relief for AC.

Colston Pruitt was 3-for-4 on the night with a pair of runs scored, while Reece Hammond had a pair of hits for the Jets.

The Jets fell to 3-8 with the loss. They’ll bounce back with a home ACAC game against Jay County Thursday.
