After both teams had already claimed victories over Adams Central earlier in the season, the Bellmont Braves and South Adams Starfires met in Decatur Tuesday evening to claim the unofficial title of County Champs and it was the home Braves who ran away with the contest late for a 69-50 victory.
Meanwhile, the aforementioned Jets won their first game in two weeks, beating Southwood with another big offensive performance, 79-71.

ADAMS CENTRAL 79 SOUTHWOOD 71
The Jets picked up their second win in the last four contests with an eight-point win over the Knights.
Braylend Reber led the team with a 24-point night.
The high-scoring affair was a wild one in the first quarter, with the Jets leading it 25-17 after just eight minutes. Bo Liddick had ten points for the visitors in that time frame.
The Jets extended their lead to 44-33 at halftime as Combs and Deathe knocked down threes.
The home team made just enough free throws (6 of 11) in the final quarter to hang on for a much-needed victory.
Adams Central Scoring: Reber 24, Johnson 17, Deathe 15, Becher 8, Combs 8, Geels 4, Rathbun 2, Frey 1
Southwood Scoring: Marshall 23, Liddick 15, Valdez 13, Chambers 8, Enyeart 6, Brewer 4, Hawkins 2
BELLMONT 69 SOUTH ADAMS 50
The Braves snapped their eight-game losing streak with a convincing scoreline against the Starfires to claim the county title. The game was much closer for much of the contest, however.
The story of the game, though, was Jack Schultz. The sophomore had a career night and simply could not miss, finishing with 26 points.

Bellmont led 31-22 at half, but the Stars cut it to a one-possession game midway through the third quarter.
The Braves will host Bishop Luers Wednesday evening. The game was supposed to be on Saturday but was moved up to accommodate the girls’ semi-state game.
Bellmont Scoring: Schultz 26, C. Summers 15, Selking 10, B. Baker 9, Hackman 6, I. Baker 3
South Adams Scoring: Lehman 16, McKean 13, Herring 10, Colpaert 6, Fields 2, Weaver 2

NORTH SIDE 71 HERITAGE 51
The Patriots struggled without Lantae Cassell on Tuesday night. The guard will return for Friday’s game.
Taurean Brown picked up the slack from the guard position and led the team with 12 points. Kingston Galentine knocked down the team’s only two threes and had ten points.

Heritage scored just six points in the second quarter, allowing the Legends, who are now 12-8, to extend their lead.
The Patriots have now lost four in a row since losing the buzzer beater at Bluffton last week.
Heritage Scoring: Brown 12, Galentine 10, Taylor 9, Bowers 8, Oliver 6, Feasby 4, Harris 2
