Bellmont beat Woodlan for just the second time in the last five years Monday in a rescheduled game from a past snowstorm as sophomore Daniel Selking knocked down six threes and ended the game on a scoring streak, finishing with 26 points, all in the final three quarters, to lead all scorers in the Braves’ 58-50 victory over the Warriors.
Woodlan kept Selking scoreless in the opening quarter and held Bellmont to just two buckets, taking a 10-7 lead into the second stanza. That’s when the sophomore erupted, draining three from behind the arc as Bellmont’s defense held Woodlan in check, allowing just four points in the quarter.

Two more threes by Selking, along with one by freshman Easton Baker, allowed the Braves to keep pace with Woodlan heading into the final eight minutes, where coach John Baker, who once played for the Braves alongside the fathers of Selking and Baker, tried to get back into the game via missed free throws by the home team.
Bellmont attempted 17 of their 19 free throws in the game in the fourth quarter, knocking down eleven of them to hold off the Warrior charge. Selking was 6 of 8 on the night from the stripe.

Cam Summers was the only Brave to score in each quarter. He finished with 15 points.
Jake Hackman had eight points, while Jack Schultz had five and Baker finished with four. The Braves did not have a bench point.

Junior Keaton Delagrange led Woodlan with 18 points. Freshman Camden Brooks had 13 points, all in the second half.
The Warriors had nine players in the scoring column as they fell to 2-4 on the year, losing their third game in a row.
The Braves are back to .500 with two wins on the heels of the opening two losses to Carroll and Concordia. They’ll play at New Haven Friday night.
