The improvement for this year’s Heritage Patriots is evident and they’ve only played two games this season.
That point was hard to argue after Wednesday night’s victory over Whitko by 19 points. Whereas coach Kyle Sovine split last year’s two opening games against the Wildcats and Garrett with a scoring margin of +7, the Patriots stand at 2-0 and +45 as they prep for Friday’s showdown against East Allen rival, Leo.

One of the big differences between the two seasons has ben the presence of sophomore Kingston Galentine and his shooting prowess. After scoring 13 against the Railroaders last week, Galentine led all scorers Wednesday with 21 points. He kept the Patriots in the game early with seven first-quarter points as his team trailed 14-13 after eight minutes.
Heritage got five others in the scoring column in the second and went into the lockers with a 27-23 lead. Galentine then took control of the contest in the third, knocking down four shots for nine more points to help his team push the lead to double digits.

The Patriots also got a solid scoring night from Taurean Brown, who finished with twelve points. Jaxon Feasby had nine and Lantae Cassel added seven.
Heritage finished 12 of 17 at the line and knocked down seven shots from behind the arc.
The home game against Leo Friday night will usher in a long run of road games for the Patriots. They’ll play four in a row away and the home ACAC game against Southern Wells on December 20th is the only other opportunity to play on the home court in the following four weeks.
