Bellmont’s two Bleke sisters (see photos below) out-scored Jay County’s three Schwieterman sisters 30-28 and the rest of the Braves dominated, especially in the second half, to push the Braves’ record to 4-0 with a 60-39 home win over the Patriots Friday night.

Ashley and Mary Bleke combined for 22 points in the first half, helping the Braves to a 34-20 lead at the break.

The Braves have featured a great scoring performance in each of their first four games and Friday night it was Lanie French’s turn to get hot. The junior hit four three-point shots in the first half as part of a fourteen-point night.

Karsyn and Hallie Schwieterman had 19 of the team’s 20 first-half points. Karsyn finished the night with 17 to lead all scorers, while Hallie had 11.

Ashley Bleke led the Braves with 16 and her sister, Mary, had 14.
The physical game featured a total of 43 free throws, many of them in the second half. Bellmont finished 12 of 19 from the line, while Jay County went 16 of 24.
A quick trip to Heritage Saturday night for a game set to be broadcast on 92.7 FM will be followed by four straight home games for the Braves in the coming two weeks.
