Elsie R. Selking, 93, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Monday evening, November 10, 2025, at Georgetowne Place in Fort Wayne.
She was born on March 22, 1932, in Van Wert, Ohio, to the late George J. and Edna M. (Dietrich) Hofmann. She was united in marriage to Albert “Al” Selking on October 18, 1950, in Van Wert County, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2024.

Elsie was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and previously was a part of the Ladies Aide and Tabea.
She graduated in 1949 from Van Wert High School in Ohio. She was previously employed by L.S. Ayres in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and retired from IUPU Fort Wayne.
Elsie loved the game of bowling, the quiet satisfaction of gardening and quilting, summers spent making memories at the lake, and playing countless card games. Above all, her greatest passion was her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought boundless joy.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Ron) Corlew of Huntertown, Indiana; daughter, Joyce (Robert) Witte of Hartsel, Colorado; son, Alan (Susan) Selking of Westfield, Indiana; sister, Louise Showalter of Van Wert, Ohio; brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Jackson of Van Wert, Ohio; brother-in-law, Steve Whitcraft of Van Wert, Ohio, six grandchildren, Chris (Stacey) Corlew, Craig (Rachel) Corlew, Sara (Chris) Ray, Rachel Monarch, Andrea (Ryan) Wegeng, and Ryan (Bekah) Selking; and nine great-grandchildren, Michael Corlew, Aidan Corlew, Alyssa Corlew, Ashlyn Corlew, Adelyn Ray, Jackson Wegeng, Ellie Wegeng, Micah Selking, and Joshua Selking.
Elsie was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lee Selking in infancy; two sisters, Ella Jean Jackson and Delores A. “Dee” Whitcraft; and half-brother, Oscar Hofmann.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with Pastor Adam McDowell officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Preferred memorials can be given to Worship Anew or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
