
Alice G. Kline, 93, of Decatur, IN passed away on the Feast of the Assumption, Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Adams Memorial Hospital. Alice was born on July 13, 1933, in Decatur to the late John F. and Dorothy C. (Steigmeyer) Geels. Alice married David R. “Dick” Kline on May 1, 1954. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2006.
Alice was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she was a Proclaimer and Eucharistic Minister. She was a 1951 graduate of Decatur Catholic High School. She volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store and was a homemaker.
Alice is survived by her children, Cynthia (Phil) Underhile of Ookala, HI, Jerald (Esther) Kline and Diane (Tim) Crabtree both of Decatur, IN; 2 sisters, Esther Mowery of Decatur, IN and Marcile (David) Wall of Ft. Wayne, IN, 6 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Fred, Francis and John Geels, a sister, Helen Loshe; and a grandson, Kevin Brock.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Jacob Runyon presiding. There will be calling 1 hour prior to Mass from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Preferred memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
