Football season rolls on at WZBD and for the 13th straight week, we have two games for our listeners as the IHSAA gets ready to hand out regional trophies Friday night.

OUR FEATURED GAMES OF THE WEEK
#5 Eastbrook (12-0) at #1 Adams Central (12-0) Listen Live on WZBD, 92.7 FM
The Sagarin Rankings peg these two teams as being incredibly similar with very similar strengths of schedule in their first 12 games. Since Adams Central is basically new to 2A, they have no experience against Eastbrook.
The Panthers were just 4-6 last year, bowing out of the first round of sectional against Tipton in a 17-7 loss.
Senior quarterback Bodie Howell averages just 3 or 4 pass completions a game and just 56 yards, but the ground game is exceptional for the QB. He averaged over 100 yards per game and is complemented by his classmate, Ryder Gipson, who has 1358 yards this season. Both seniors have 19 touchdowns apiece in this 2025 season.

The Jets will need to guard against looking too far ahead (with another trip to Andrean looming), but the home crowd will certainly give them an edge in this one.
Note: If the Jets advance, they would travel to Andrean or to Southmont for the semi-state game.

#10 South Adams (9-3) at North Miami (9-3) Live on WZBD’s YouTube Channel
Outside of the tenth-ranked Starfires, only three ranked teams remain in the coaches’ poll top ten in 1A. The 2025 1A Regional is simply a rematch of last season’s regional, where South Adams ended the Warriors’ season in Berne, 40-21.
There is no secret as to what the Warriors will attempt to do against the Stars. They’ll run the ball until the final whistle. Quarterback Hartley Hoover has just 214 yards passing for the entire season, but has nearly 900 yards on the ground.
North Miami also features two 1000-yard rushers in Ryan Meredith and Lake Musall.

One promising stat for South Adams fans: The three best teams on North Miami’s schedule according to the computer rankings have all been losses this year for the Warriors.
Note: If the Starfires are victorious, they’d host #3 Pioneer for the semi-state, but they’d have to travel to LaVille.
