Barbara Rose Nussbaum, 96, of Berne, passed away Monday afternoon, September 29, 2025, at Swiss Village surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Decatur, IN, on August 23, 1929, the daughter of the late Victor E. and Alta C. (Barger) Byerly. On July 9, 1949, Barbara married Robert L. Nussbaum, he preceded her in death on March 11, 2014.

She was a member of Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren, where she was a deacon, helped in the nursery and was involved in the women’s fellowship. Barbara worked in production for CTS, in Berne, where she retired after 27 years of service.
She loved gardening, tending to her flowers, baking, being outdoors, camping and spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by her son, Kip (Becky) Nussbaum of Berne, IN; her daughters, Pam (Phil) Sheets of Berne, IN, and Karleen (Ron) Sprunger of Berne, IN; a brother, Wayne Byerly of Decatur, IN; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Nussbaum; sisters, Delores Landis, Marjorie Byerly, Joan Liechty; a brother, Ronald Byerly; sisters-in-law, Edith & Donna Byerly; brothers-in-law, Loren Liechty & Harvey Landis.
A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren, with visitation prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Pastor Jay Carter will be officiating and burial will be in the Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Pleasant Dale Making Room Fund.
