Ethan Crockett shattered his own personal best at Taylor’s Saturday 5K, breaking the 17-minute mark by a wide margin to finish in 16:33 to lead Adams Central to a 14th-place finish in a talented 20-team field.
Crockett ran a 17:06 last season at the same event and was between 17 minutes and 17:10 two other times in 2024, but a time of 16:33 shows just how improvement he has made this season as the team’s new leader.
Ethan also cut 53 seconds from his time at last week’s race at Taylor.

Adams Central also got a career best from Trevor Chamberlain, who came in under 21 minutes for the first time in his career.
Phillip Bayer was the biggest surprise of the day, however, for Adams Central. Bayer had never gone below 25 minutes in his career and he finished in an astonishing 21:52.5 to finish up the team scoring for AC.
The Jets will be back in action in Tuesday’s Bi-County Conditioner at Bellmont on Tuesday.
