WZBD rounds up Thursday’s high school golf action here:
Adams Central had little trouble on their home course Thursday night, beating the Heritage Patriots handily with another fine round on the front nine by No. 1 Londyn Smith, who shot 41.

The Patriots were, despite the loss, eight shots better on the back as a team than they were at the South Adams Invite to start the season.

Smith’s round of 41 was the best she had played on the back this year for the Jets. Mel Eicher and Claire Arner each had good JV rounds, shooting 56s.
Meanwhile, the Bellmont Braves did not have enough to beat rival Norwell, but the improvement over the last two weeks was evident at Timber Ridge.
“We improved by 32 strokes what we shot there ten days ago,” noted coach Mike Macke. “This was another good match for us.”
Ava Billman drove the green on the 220-yard Par 4 tenth hole, sinking the putt for an eagle as part of her round of 51.
Norwell won the match 179-194.
Celina beat South Adams by a single stroke at Wabash Valley.

Notes:
-Natalie Sorg’s round of 54 was a vast improvement from the 62 she shot two weeks ago at Wabash Valley in the season opener for Heritage.
-Kinley Martin’s round of 46 was her best of the year for Bellmont. “She worked hard on her short game,” said coach Macke, “and it paid off tonight. All five girls have now broken 50 at some point during the season.”
-Audrey Orr (South Adams) was not only medalist at Wabash Valley, she also had her best round of the season.
