Several classes of varying types are upcoming at the MERIT Center in Decatur, it has been announced by Patti Hogg, coordinator at the center.
Next Tuesday, the MERIT Center will offer a class on herb gardening starting at 6 p.m. and taught by Brad Kohlhagen, Adams County extension educator with Purdue Extension. The cost is $10 and those taking the class may bring a planter to fill.
A Cookies & Canvas class will be offered starting at 6 p.m. on May 2.
Cost of the class is $30, with all supplies to be provided. The program is open to 14 years and older. Those taking the class will learn how to paint a street light scene.

On May 5, starting at 6 p.m., Farmers & Merchants State Bank will offer a workshop on Buying A House. “This workshop is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to learn more about how the home buying process works,” Hogg said.

Also on May 5, Quick Cuisine: An Introduction to Microwave Cooking, will start at 1 p.m.
The class will teach a variety of techniques to prepare quick and tasty meals using just a microwave. It will cover essential tips, safety practices, and creative recipes that maximize flavor and nutrition. “By the end of the session, you’ll be equipped with the skills to whip up delicious microwave meals in no time,” Hogg said.

Starting at 6 p.m. on May 6, the MERIT Center will be offering a class on vegetable gardening taught by Brad Kohlhagen. Class fee is $10.
