The visiting Leo Lions won the final two individual events and took the second and third-place points in the final two relays to pull off a 91-87 victory over Bellmont in Decatur Thursday night.
Notes & Times:
-Freshman Izabella Werling swam her best IM of the year, taking third in 2:56.21.
-Chloe Post swam a season best in the 50 for the Braves.
-Ella Hockemeyer, who is recovering from illness that caused her to miss a couple meets in the past few weeks, swam a season best and won the 100 Free.
-Shaylin McCray swam the 500 for the first time this season and won with the second-fastest time of any county swimmer this season. (Julia Arnold from South Adams has the best time this year).
-The 200 Free Relay team of Morgan Brames, Werling, Hockemeyer and Madison Witte had their best time of the year and beat the top Leo team by six seconds.
-Senior Madison Witte took a big bite out of her season best in the breaststroke, finishing a few tenths behind the winner in 1:18.63. Teammate Morgan Brames was third with a season best of her own.
-The 400 Free Relay team won by 13 seconds with a new season best time (by over five seconds). Teaming up for the win were Langley Murray, Tori McCullough, Hockemeyer and McCray.
