Taking advantage of five Blackhawk fumbles and creating another turnover with an interception, the South Adams Starfires used defense to prop up their offense Friday night, scoring 70 points on 396 yards of total offense and winning by a wide margin on Homecoming night in Berne.
The final score may have been 70-13, but the Starfires led 63-0 with the running clock going late in the third quarter.
Tytus Lehman threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead the team, racking up 171 yards passing on 12 completions and also picking up 26 with his legs.
Dillan Ramirez was the Stars’ leading rusher with 81 yards on five carries and a touchdown.

Will Patterson had two carries and scored on both of them, scoring from 21 yards out in the first quarter and from 11 yards in the third. He also picked off QB Chip Bennett for the Stars’ INT.

Jackson Garcia converted all ten extra points for an outstanding kicking night.
Estaylin Pyle’s six-yard run made the score 63-0 in the third and he scored the team’s final touchdown, as well, running the kickoff back for 83 yards and softening the blow of losing the hopes of a Homecoming shutout.

Kaleb Minger had two sacks to lead the efforts on the defensive line.

Chip Bennett, whose father is the head coach and “father” of Blackhawk Christian football and lives in Adams County, threw an 80-yard touchdown pass on the first series after the Stars took the 63-point lead.
