The South Adams offense never really got going against the #12 Bluffton Tigers Friday, but Axton Beste had no problems getting his yards, both on the ground and in the air, as the visitors walked off the field with a 33-7 victory in the ACAC in Berne.
Beste accounted for nearly all the yardage in the game for the Tigers, accumulating 124 of the team’s 151 rushing yards and throwing for 218 more on 14 of 16 passing.

All four Bluffton touchdowns came in the air. Aaron Streveler caught three balls for 110 yards and two scores.

The biggest play of the game, however, was a 35-yard interception return on the first series for the Starfire offense after the Tigers had taken a 12-0 lead early in the second quarter.

Craig’s pick-six set the tone for the rest of the game and ultimately helped the visitors to a perfect start in the ACAC.

Bluffton shut down the running game of the Starfires, holding Dillan Ramirez, who smashed Bellmont the week before, to just 30 yards on 15 carries.
Lehman had the most success on the ground, picking up 64 yards. He was 12 of 26 for 112 yards in the air, hitting Jax Wanner for a TD late in the fourth quarter to avoid the shutout.
Derek McKean had six catches for 57 yards.

Nathan Plattner led the Starfires in tackles with nine.
The Starfires will be involved in the WZBD featured game of the week in Week 4 when they travel to Heritage to take on the undefeated Patriots, who were up to #16 in the 3A Sagarin ratings this week.
