The Heritage Patriots moved to 2-0 on the season with a 21-0 victory at Fairfield Friday night in a game that was delayed due to weather and finished close to midnight.
Defensively, the team shut down Fairfield’s passing game, allowing just one completion for nine yards. The Falcons did gain 146 yards on the ground, but it came at an average of just 3.9 yards/carry.
Coach Jeremy Hullinger’s team had a nearly 50-50 split between yards in the air and on the ground, with Eli Tigulis throwing a TD to Zeke Litchfield and finishing the night with 174 passing yards.

Tigulis added a short touchdown run of his own and Nasir Martin scored the final touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the win from eight yards out. Litchfield scored on a two-point conversion to make up for a missed PAT in the first half.
Heritage won the battle on the offensive line, protecting Eli Tigulis and not allowing a sack. The QB was 17 of 22 and hit five different receivers for multiple completions each.

Braden Walter caught three passes for 45 yards, while Litchfield had the TD on three catches for 41 yards.
Lantae Cassel’s role on the offense continues to grow – he had five catches from the accurate Tigulis.
The Patriots will play at Woodlan next week to start their ACAC slate. Heritage fans can hear that game on WZBD.
