Ten months after the devastating, season-ending loss at Eastside in the sectional, the Adams Central Jets traveled back to Butler for a rematch, but it was a dominating performance by senior hurler Natalie Lower that dominated the storyline of the game.
Lower, who is committed to pitch at Rock Valley next season, allowed just four hits across six innings, striking out four but walking none.
Another senior on the tough Blazer team, Grace McClain, provided the firepower with the bat, knocking in five runs with three hits, including a triple and a home run off Adams Central’s Maddie Hill, who struck out five in four innings of work.
Coach Cary Blake’s team managed just four singles, with two of them coming in the top of the first as Melina Peralez added to her RBI total by knocking in leadoff hitter Sydney Jauregui.
The Jets were scheduled to play Parkway Friday before preparing for a showdown with the Bellmont Braves Monday.
