The Adams County Economic Development Corp. (ACEDC) has announced what it says is “the successful completion of a comprehensive housing strategy aimed at significantly expanding the production of new housing units in the area.”
“In a groundbreaking initiative, we are launching the Hoosier Homes homebuyer assistance program, in partnership with Club 720, to empower a new generation of homeowners,” ACEDC Executive Director Colton Bickel said in making the announcement.
“This innovative program is specifically designed to address the unique challenges faced by millennials, who represent approximately 70-75% of potential homebuyers in our communities. Many millennials are hindered by college debt, which delays their ability to save for a down payment. Hoosier Homes aims to bridge this gap by providing essential down payment assistance and resources.”
He said the strategy is set to catalyze the production of diverse housing units, catering to the varied needs and preferences of the growing community. “The expansion is not just about building homes, but about nurturing a thriving, vibrant community where everyone has the opportunity to own a home,” Bickel added.
He noted that Club 720 will serve as a critical link between the emerging housing production pipeline and a growing pool of ready buyers. “By leveraging Club 720’s innovative platform, we aim to seamlessly connect homebuyers with realtors, banks, and builders, creating a cohesive ecosystem that supports both supply and demand sides of the housing market.”
Bickel said realtors, banks, builders and other stakeholders are invited to join the effort. “Your collaboration with Club 720 will not only help serve a multitude of interested buyers, but also play a key role in the success of our community’s housing strategy,” he said.
Exclusive program benefits include:
* Eligibility extends to both first-time homebuyers and experienced buyers.
* Up to 5% assistance in down payments and closing costs.
* Attractive 30-year fixed-rate mortgage options with competitive interest rates.
Key eligibility criteria are:
* A minimum credit score of 620.
* The property must be located within Adams County.
* Borrower income at or below $115,780.
* First-time buyers are required to complete a homebuyer education course.
“We encourage homebuyers, realtors, and builders to learn more about the Hoosier Homes Program and how Club 720 can support your homeownership goals or business growth,” Bickel said. “Visit www.club720.org/hoosierhomes-dpa for more information and to become part of this transformative initiative.”
