The City of Decatur is looking for a new forester in the wake of the resignation of Zac Lister.
Lister, who has held the city’s forester position for approximately one year, is stepping down effective Sept. 18.
“Thank you for the support and opportunities I received during my time here,” Lister said in his resignation letter. “I am glad to help with a smooth transition before I leave.”
“It’s a great job,” Lister told WZBD.com. He said, however, that he is taking a position with an area company.
Zac, his wife, Kaitlyn, and son Jameson, welcomed a new addition to the family, Arthur, in July.
TREE TIME: A city announcement says its forester maintains trees and shrubs throughout city properties, parks, easements and trails.
Duties include planting, pruning and removing trees, plus coordinating tree work, maintaining equipment and records.
Applications may be picked up at City Hall, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and are available at: www.cityofdecatur.in.gov
Applications must be returned by Sept. 16 at 4 p.m. at City Hall, by mail or by email: applications@cityofdecatur.in.
