The Decatur Chamber’s 25th annual Motorsports Festival will be held Thursday, August 27.
The event will be held as part of that night’s concert presented by The Bulldogs.
The announcement was made at a city council meeting by Community Coordinator Jamie Gephart. Events such as these two must be taken to Gephart, who then brings them to council for its final approval.
Registration begins at 3 p.m., she said.
Antique cars, show cars, race cars, street rods and motorcycles are expected. Recent motorsports festivals have drawn up to 150 vehicles.
They will be parked on Second St. downtown, from Monroe St. to Jefferson St. Two other streets, Madison and Court, will be used if needed.
