The Adams County Commissioners are getting closer to making a final decision on where the county’s justice center should be located, but they’re not ready to make a final choice just yet. The Commissioners have said openly that they want to make a final decision by the end of April, but only if they have a site and a plan that they agree on.
Commissioners President Steve Bailey says they want to check on some other possibilities and how much the county can afford to spend on a new site or sites for the jail, courts, work release program, and all other parts of the system…
The Commissioners are torn between downtown Decatur and the current jail property for the justice center, as well as the price tag for it.
