The City of Decatur’s planned recognition of Bellmont High School’s state championship has been delayed.
Mayor Dan Rickord said at Tuesday night’s city council meeting that several members of the team had planned activities and so not all members would have been able to attend.
Rickord said city officials will try again to honor the champs at the next council meeting, on Tuesday, April 7.
A community celebration for Coach Andy Heim and the team was held March 4.
