It was a tough home matchup against the very best of the ACAC Thursday night and it was all Jay County, as the Patriot vs. Patriot matchup went the way of the visitors from Portland, 76-21, to wrap up Heritage’s regular season.

While the team finished with a loss, they still claim a 6-13 record at the end of the year – a much-improved mark compared to the last few seasons on Monroeville Road.

The home Patriots had no answers for the two Schwietermann sisters. Hallie led all scorers with 23 and Karsyn with 12 points. Natalie May also had ten points in the winning effort.

For Heritage, offense was hard to find. Leading scorer Olivia Lybarger scored all five of her points from the free throw line.

Elise Hissong had four points in the loss.
Fans of the Patriots can hear their team’s game against Mississinewa via WZBD next week as the team attempts to win their first postseason game since 2003.
