The Woodlan Warriors finished off an undefeated regular season in the ACAC with a strong defensive effort and a 41-27 victory in the Stardome Saturday, smothering the Stars with the defense that has defined their team this season.
Coach Dave Randall’s team gave up just 42 points per game this season in the ACAC. While their loss to Jay County (50-20) in the tournament ruined any hopes of a double championship season, Woodlan’s win over the Patriots on January 2nd set the Warriors up for a run at a perfect 6-0 season.
Alyssa Anderson led Woodlan with 20 points.
“Their post player creates some problems around the basket with her experience and athleticism,” noted SA head coach Brett Freeman of Anderson.

Savannah Scheumann added 14 more for coach Randall.
“They had a guard (Scheumann) who was able to knock down some threes due to some slow rotations on our part,” Freeman conceded.
Despite the loss, Freeman was still happy with his side’s defensive effort.
“I was pleased with our defensive effort,” said Freeman, “but offensively, we have to be better.”
South Adams got ten points from Ana Lehman and nine from Laney Trausch.
The loss dropped the Stars to 5-14 on the season.
