Daniel Selking lit up the Huntington North Vikings with 33 points, 13 of them in the third quarter, but it was ultimately the home team that claimed victory, 56-50, on Saturday afternoon in NE8 play.

The Braves trailed 15-6 after the first quarter and never regained the lead.
After just one three in the opening quarter, Selking started to heat up in the second. He went to the line six times (making five) and scored ten points to cut the Braves’ deficit to five at halftime.

Despite Selking’s outstanding third period, the Braves did not make a dent in the Huntington North lead. Titus Schultz seemed to have an answer for each big shot and finished with nine points himself in the third. He had 19 to lead the victorious Vikes in the game.

The loss was the fourth in a row for the Braves, who have been streaky all year. Two opening losses were followed by two wins in early December. A run of three games around Christmas all ended in a loss, but the Braves bounced right back with three wins in a row to crawl back to .500. They’ll have a great shot at starting a new streak soon with six of the next seven at home.
