Freshman Elaine Bickel nailed three three-point shots and led all scorers with 13 points in Heritage’s 30-28 victory over Lakewood Park Tuesday night, giving the Patriots their third road win of the season.
Two of Bickel’s long-range shots came in the fourth quarter as the visitors attempted to get back into the game after trailing by six points going into the final session.
As important as Bickel’s big shots in the fourth was the defense of the Patriots, who allowed just one bucket to the Panthers to complete the comeback.
Elise Hissong added eight points in the victory, while Olivia Lybarger had four.
The Patriots still have a chance to equal the win total of the last three seasons (8) with their 2025-26 season if they can win two of the final four games of the regular season. They’ll take on two very tough tests in the ACAC against Jay County and Bluffton, but also have two winnable games against New Haven (2-18) and Lakeland Christian (4-15).
