Three teams, all with two losses on the season, highlight the Friday semifinal round of the annual ACAC Boys’ Basketball Tournament after the Heritage Patriots took care of business against Adams Central and Bluffton knocked out South Adams in Tuesday’s opening round.
Jay County won their first-round game by 36 points and they’ll play Southern Wells, who had the bye.

Jay County 65 Woodlan 29
Having already beaten Woodlan very early in the year by 24 points, the Patriots were heavy favorites to advance to Friday’s semifinal. They’ll also be favorites against Southern Wells in the semis, especially with the game being played in Portland.

Heritage 62 Adams Central 45
A full-powered Heritage team was simply too much for Adams Central Tuesday night as Taurean Brown led the team with an outstanding 21-point performance.
Welcoming Kingston Galentine back for a full game after a brief stint on the bench with an injury, the Patriots got ten points from their sophomore, who immediately made the offense more dynamic with his presence.

Lantae Cassel had a nice night, as well, knocking down a pair of threes on his way to a 15-point night.

The Patriots have not yet played Bluffton, so it should be a great game on 92.7 FM as the two play for a spot in the finals in Berne on Saturday night. It will also add intrigue to the regular season race, with both teams currently unbeaten in the ACAC and set to play each other again in conference play in three weeks.
