Decatur City Hall will be closed Wednesday through Friday in observance of Christmas.
The following week, City Hall will be open Wednesday and Friday, closed on Thursday, New Year’s Day.
City officials noted that utility payments may be made online at www.decaturin.org, or placed in a mail box located in the parking lot behind City Hall.
There will be no trash collection on Christmas Day. Thursday’s normal pickup will be done Friday and the regular Friday collection will be moved to Saturday.

On New Year’s week, there will be only one change: No trash/recyclables will be collected Thursday, New Year’s Day. The usual Thursday route will be picked up Friday, along with that day’s normal collection.
The week of December 29 – January 2, the city will pick up extra cardboard due to the holiday season.
IN BERNE: Berne City Hall will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and 31, and January 1.
This Wednesday’s trash collection will be held as usual, The Thursday and Friday collections will be taken on Friday.
The same schedule will be observed on New Year’s week.
The compost site will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 31, and January 1.
Officials said the compost site will be closed every Saturday in 2026 until April 4.
IN GENEVA: Geneva Town Hall will be open Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., then closed Friday and Saturday.
Next week’s hours for Town Hall will be 8 a.m. To 2 p.m. on Monday, 8 a.m. To 4 p.m. on Tuesday, closed Wednesday and Thursday.
