MONROE – The Adams Central Jets certainly did not look rusty Tuesday night.
Just 19 days since being eliminated from the state football tournament, the BAGUBAS dominated Norwell from start to finish in a 65-12 romp of the Knights in the SAC in Monroe.
Three Jet freshmen got the home team off to an 18-0 start, with Ryan Beer and Owen Macklin scoring falls and Cruz Bowers taking a forfeit at 106.
Norwell picked up two falls midway through the dual, but Adams Central always answered with their own fall, with one coming at 132, where Kale Beer started his junior season with three takedowns and then a fall over Connor Fojtik, Norwell’s senior leader.
It was not all just quick pins and high-scoring tech falls. Max Nussbaum and Ethan Funk both eked out decisions late in the evening, showing some grit and toughness despite the team score already being wrapped up.
Adams Central will be back in action Saturday, where they’ll wrestle the rest of the ACAC at Jay County. Fans of the Jets can hear the action on WZBD, 92.7 FM.
