South Adams won six of eleven matches wrestled on the mat Thursday against #5 (2A) Delta, but three Starfire forfeits turned a 29-29 match into a 47-29 win for the Eagles.
Without a 106 at weight and missing Will Patterson at the moment, the Starfires had to forfeit three times, instead of the one empty spot they expect to have all season long at heavyweight.

Delta’s four returning medalists combined for four big wins, although they did not get the maximum 24 points, with Brock Sprunger holding off Kaid Jackson and allowing just five team points.

Nathan Plattner won the consolation prize at the end of the night, taking the final bout by decision.
South Adams will open their home season Tuesday against Bellmont, a team they have never beaten in varsity action.
