Dakota Sprunger claimed the individual title in the varsity boys’ race at the Bluffton Invite this weekend, while Hudson Krull led the Bellmont Braves in the NE8 meet in Huntington.
It was all part of a busy week that saw all the teams in Z-Land in action at various sites around the state. The Adams Central Jets competed amongst teams from area states at the Lavern Gibson Course in Terre Haute, where the IHSAA State Championships will be held at the end of the season.

AT BLUFFTON
Notes for South Adams & Heritage:
-Dakota Sprunger’s winning time (16:45) was 34 seconds ahead of the second-place runner, leaving him with little motivation to really push toward his season-best time of 16:38.
-Wyatt Mann was just three seconds off his season best for the Stars.
-Maddox Miller had his best time of the year for South Adams.
-Corban Roth beat out the talented Hamilton Heights runners to secure second place in this race, running his best time of the season and also of his career (17:19).

AT NE8 CHAMPIONSHIP MEET
Notes for Bellmont:
-Sophomore Sydney Angel clocked her best time of the season with her 30th-place finish to lead the Braves. Her time of 22:54 was two minutes faster than last week and right in line with the expectations she set for herself in her outstanding freshman season.
-Hudson Krull ran his season best to finish in the top ten for the Braves and lad the way.

-Ethan Crockett competed with some of the very best runners from across the Midwest and flirted with a 17-minute pace all race long, finishing in 17:02.
