The Bellmont Braves took care of Leo in straight sets, bouncing back from a somewhat shaky performance against East Noble on Tuesday. The win was necessary to keep the team’s NE8 title hopes alive as Norwell were also victorious, taking out DeKalb.
Norwell have won twelve matches in a row and have a sparkling record of 22-3. They’ll play Adams Central on Monday, then face Bellmont for the top spot in the conference on Tuesday.
MaryKate Scheumann led the Braves in kills with 14 on just 25 attempts, while Katie Reinhart and Taylor Sutter each had seven.
Setting duties were once again split, with Lilly Selking and Gracie Riggs combining for 37 assists.
Meanwhile, Adams Central won at home against Blackhawk Christian, 3-1.
