Sty Pyle burst onto the Starfire athletic scene this spring with his outstanding speed and ability to bunt for coach Brad Buckingham’s baseball team. With the team winning just five games last season, one might excuse the casual fan in Z-Land for not knowing much about him.
After Friday night, there’s no mistaking who Pyle is now.
The sophomore returned two kickoffs for long touchdowns to electrify the home crowd for Week 5. Both came in the opening quarter and they set the tone for the rest of the game and maybe even for next week against Adams Central.

Pyle had the first touch of the game, going 85 yards for the score. With 38 second remaining in the opening quarter, he took it 95 yards to put the Stars up 28-6. He also had ten yards rushing and a catch for 18 yards.
South Adams later scored two touchdowns, both on laterals to extend their lead against the Braves and their still rather new program.
Tytus Lehman finished 11 of 17 for 272 yards and two scores. He gave way to Zaden Baumer late in the game when the win was already wrapped up.
Titus Loshe and Easton O’Dell both recorded interceptions from two different BC quarterbacks.
Chip Bennett carried the ball 17 times and led the Braves with 75 yards on the ground and 34 yards receiving.
Blackhawk attempted three field goals in the game, but missed all three.
Kaleb Minger led the Stars with eight tackles (seven solo) and he had two tackles for loss.
