The Adams Central Jets continued their remarkable golf season with a berth in next week’s IHSAA regional by taking third place away from the Bellmont Braves by two strokes and advancing the entire team to Noble Hawk next Friday.
The monumental achievement marks the first time an Adams Central golf team – boys or girls – has ever advanced in the IHSAA tournament as a team.
Homestead won the event again, beating Norwell by 30 points. The Knights finished 40 strokes ahead of the Jets, who came in at 410.
All three Adams County teams were incredibly close to each other, with South Adams finishing just nine strokes behind the Braves.
Ella Hockemeyer used a strong front nine to put herself into the regional hunt and she shot a 93 to be the first individual to advance.
