It was a very busy Saturday for local cross country teams as they draw closer to the postseason and put their mid-week races behind them. The cool temperatures also had a big impact on times and performances.

Here’s a summary of all four teams and how they performed this weekend, beginning with the girls this week.

Heritage Girls at South Side Archer Invite
Rosalinda Medina led the Heritage girls with a fourth-place finish. Emily High was 13th overall and second for the Patriots with her best time of the season.
The Patriots also got season-best times from Elise Hissong, Ava Gerber, and Dhylan Gilbert.

Addie Bacon had an outstanding race, trimming almost 2.5 minutes from her previous personal best, set just three weeks ago.

Adams Central and Bellmont Girls at Wildcat Invite
Alyssa Fruechte ran a season best to lead Adams Central to a 10th-place finish Saturday.
Ella Bluhm and Haley Jauregui also had season bests for the Jets.

Adalynn Watson was eighth overall for the Starfires with a time of 21:04.2.
Heritage Boys at South Side Archer Invite
The Patriots were led by Corban Roth once again. He came in ten seconds behind the overall winner.
Gavin Juricak cut 37 seconds from his season best for the Patriots.
Mo Esarhaek and Nick Flores also had season bests for Heritage.

South Adams Boys at Maconaquah Invite
Dakota Sprunger was in October form Saturday at the Maconaquah Invite, running an impressive 16:36 for the Starfires and taking fourth place individually.

Adams Central and Bellmont Boys at Wildcat Invite
The last three races for Ethan Crockett have finished with times within 11 seconds of each other and Crockett used his 16:44 Saturday at IWU to give the Jets a spot on the podium with a third-place finish.
Trevor Chamberlain set a new season best for the Jets with his finish.
In the Red Race, Bellmont got a season best from their leader, Hayden Whittenbarger. They competed without Gavin Braun, who was playing for the soccer team instead. Maddux Miller showed major improvement and came in under 17:30.
