A scoreless game after one quarter quickly turned into a blowout late in the second quarter Friday at Jay County as the #1 Adams Central Flying Jets took care of business with their 26th consecutive ACAC victory, beating the Patriots 40-0.

Vance Miller doubled the Jets lead in the second quarter from 6-0 to 12-0, then ran it in twice more in the third quarter for a three touchdown night, averaging ten yards per carry on his dozen touches.
Overall, it was a clean game between the two teams with no turnovers and just four penalties. Jay County simply could not keep the Jets from grinding out long scoring drives. When it was the home team’s turn to have the rock, they struggled to move the sticks, picking up just two third-down conversions all night. The Patriots struggled to just 168 yards of offense across eight possessions.

Jay County kept Adams Central somewhat close at the start of the game with some daring fourth down antics. They converted four of five tries throughout the game on fourth down.
Meanwhile, Adams Central had seven possessions in the game, ate up 34 minutes of possession and scored six touchdowns in what was ultimately a very dominating performance by the current kings of the ACAC.

Jamison Roach needed just nine pass attempts to keep the Jay defense honest, completing six of them for 72 yards, including a touchdown strike to Joey Everett in the second quarter with two minutes to go. He was also good on the ground, gaining 67 when he kept the ball himself.

Along with the touchdown catch, Everett had a 67-yard touchdown run to continue his long spell as the Jets’ top big-play option.

Miller finished the game with 117 yards rushing, part of a 341-yard night for the offense.
The Jets will return home in Week 5 to take on a Heritage team that was somewhat embarrassed in Berne Friday night by South Adams. That contest will be featured on 92.7 FM with our game of the week designation.
