Adams Central and Bellmont were within five strokes of each other Tuesday night as the Jets celebrated their senior night, flipping the results of Saturday’s Bi-County tournament to beat the Braves 191-196 on the front nine of their home course.
Playing at the same time as South Adams and Bluffton, who were involved in their own head-to-head tussle, the Jets got a season best from Adrienne Johnson with a 47 (her best round on those nine holes) to lead the way. Three teammates came in right behind her with 48s.

Morgan Huss had medalist honors for the Braves on her return to Wabash Valley, where she played her first round of the year. Early in August she recorded a 51 on the front, then went 46 on the back. She matched that round of 46 Tuesday.
“Morgan played well to earn that overall medalist honor,” said coach Mike Macke. “It was a good match. AC played well and we shot another decent number.”

Sophie Johnson had her best front nine of the year at Wabash Valley, as well, with a 52 for Adams Central on a night honoring her.
