The South Adams Starfires turned Saturday’s disappointment of a canceled 18-hole tournament into a stellar performance on the front nine at McMillen, launching them to a conference victory over the Heritage Patriots Monday.

The Starfires took the match by nine strokes on the Par-33 course, with Brooklyn Green scoring her lowest overall round in her career to lead the way.

Heritage’s Liz Buuck was the medalist with a 45. Buuck continued her downward trend after shooting her best nine holes Saturday (48 at Foster Park). Buuck made par on the second hole and followed it up with four straight holes of more solid golf with four bogeys.

Brooklyn Green was joined in the under 50 and top score club by two teammates – Kendall Minger and Audrey Orr. Minger broke 50 for the first time in her career with a 48 and Orr did the same with her 47.

The Starfires will head in the other direction for their match, playing at Winchester on Thursday.
Heritage will stay at McMillen with a home match against the talented Norwell Knights Thursday.
