For the third time in eight days, the Bluffton Tigers took care of the Bellmont Braves on a third different course, winning Monday night at Timber Ridge in Bluffton, 186-219.
The match marked the first weeknight head-to-head for coach Macke’s Bellmont team, who will look to regroup Wednesday night against Snider at Cross Creek.
“We didn’t play as well as last week,” said Macke after the loss, “but it’s the first road trip after school started, so we struggled to find our rhythm.”
Both No. 1s led their teams, with Emma Schwartz of Bluffton taking medalist honors by nine strokes with a 40. Bellmont senior Ella Hockemeyer was the only Brave to break 50 with a round of 49.

Morgan Huss had the individual highlight of the night for the Braves with a birdie on the 11th hole.
“It was her last hole,” noted Macke. “And she chipped it right in. The girls stayed with it, though, and kept trying until the last shot.”

The Tigers’ advantage at Timber Ridge has only grown in recent years after the IHSAA moved the sectional several years ago to Fort Wayne and out of Bluffton.
