The hair will be flying and the heavy metal music will be loud on the Madison St. Plaza in Decatur Thursday as the Hairbangers Ball will make its third appearance here.

The 7 to 9 p.m. performance will be the sixth in the Decatur Chamber of Commerce’s annual Summer Concert Series, with seven to follow.
Riley Thieme, a Bellmont High School senior, will get the night rolling with a singing performance beginning at 6:45.

No admission is charged. Food will be available, along with adult beverages offered by The Oasis Pub.
The Chicago-based Hairbangers, formed in 2001, are comprised of four men and two women.
They will bring the best of the 1980s hard rock of the hair bands, such as Guns & Roses, Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Ratt, Poison, Van Halen, AC/DC, KISS. Twisted Sister and more.
And concert-goers also are likely to get some of the best of Pat Benatar and Joan Jett.
The band first played Decatur in 2022, thanks to a chance meeting. Chamber Executive Director Craig Coshow had heard the band at Indiana University and before long the band was playing the Madison St. Plaza.
After the plaza performance, the band will heard north, to Milwaukee, for a concert on Friday.
