An outstanding round by both Owen Minnick and Cameron Summers helped the Braves to a tie for third place at Saturday’s NE8 meet.
Minnick finished just two strokes short of medalist honors for the Braves, losing out to East Noble’s Nate Bowker, who had the advantage of playing on his home course. Minnick had two birdies on the front nine for an outstanding 34 in and he made a third birdie on the 10th. A birdie on the 13th made up for a bogey on the previous hole, and Minnick played the final five holes at +2 to round out his under-par round.
Summers was +2 after three holes, then played the best golf of his career to finish at +2 for a top-four finish.

“It was a strong finish to the regular season,” said head coach Ty Razo. “We still have some work to do, though, to advance to the regional.”
