Coming off a disappointing loss to conference leaders Leo, the Norwell Knights put the ball in play and forced a couple of Bellmont errors to jump out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and went on to win the contest 7-4.

The Knights alternated between base hits and sacrifice attempts to move runners along in the opening inning before Bellmont starter Beau Baker could get into his rhythm.

Baker got out of the inning without any further damage with the first of his nine strikeouts on the night.

The Braves answered back with three of their own runs in the bottom half of the first. A ground ball to third by Cam Friedt that should have ended the inning turned into a Norwell error and Kaigan Lee made Knights starter Dylan Chism pay with a home run to left field to tie the ballgame.

Norwell took the lead back and for good with a two-out RBI single by Trey Privett.

Cayden Cassell drove in two for a two-run rally in the fifth and Drew Graft added another RBI in the seventh to give Norwell their eventual 7-4 scoreline.
