For the third time in four games, the Bellmont Braves lost a road game in walk-off fashion, dropping an eight-inning game by the score of 3-2 after leading the contest against the Carroll Chargers 2-0 after three innings.
Coming off a Wednesday victory where they turned the tables on the Heritage Patriots, the matchup with the Chargers was even more interesting considering Carroll had just won against Heritage on Monday with a no-hitter.
Facing the very same Carroll pitcher, Emilia Garcia, the Braves did not wait long for their first hit. Cleanup hitter Taylor Bauer singled in the very first inning with one out after Bella Ashley walked to put two on. Finnley Godsey continued her on-base streak with a walk, as well, but the rally ended with an out at home plate.
Emily Bleke drove in Liz Bobay with a single in the second, then Bauer scored on a little league home run, scored a triple and an error, to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.

Garcia settled down from there, however, and shut out the Braves the rest of the way on just two hits – another single by Bleke and a double by Krueckeberg.
Carroll answered with single tallies in the fourth and the fifth.
A walk to pinch-hitting freshman Chevelle Oetting and the double by Krueckeberg in the seventh gave the Braves a chance to score in the final regulation inning, but Garcia got two pop-ups to get out of trouble.
Carroll had a very similar version of their own seventh inning, stranding two runners, but the game was headed toward an eighth and extra inning.
The Braves went 1-2-3 in just nine pitched against Garcia in the top of the eighth and Alexis Pee led off the bottom of the inning with a single to right.
The game ended with a Lilly Schultz triple to left, scoring Pee.
Bellmont’s busy schedule continues with a game in the Kokomo tournament Friday against Delta.
