Bellmont and Bluffton went back and forth all night Tuesday in a wild game of high school baseball, but after six innings, both teams were still standing with the score knotted at eleven runs apiece.
That’s when a pair of errors and an intentional walk doomed Bellmont’s chances as Easton Blair delivered the game-winning runs with a two-out single to center to ultimately give the visiting Tigers a 13-11 victory.
Bluffton scored three in the first inning off Bellmont starter Aidan Zimmerman, but he settled down in the second and the Braves rewarded him with six runs of their own in the bottom half of the second inning. RBI hits were delivered in that big Bellmont inning by Oliver Werling, Will Baker and Cam Friedt.

The Tigers, however, came right back and knocked Zimmerman out of the game, scoring eight more runs in the third inning. Layne LeMaster came into the game and got out of the inning, but not before allowing his inherited runners to score. Another costly error allowed three more runs to score, leaving LeMaster’s ERA on the hook for only one of the five runs charged to him.
Bellmont answered back with runs in the third and in the fourth, cutting the deficit to three runs. They tied the game in the bottom of the sixth when Kaigen Lee homered to left.
Blair was also the winning pitcher, tossing the last three innings and holding the Braves at bay outside of the big bomb by Lee.
The Braves will be back in action for a doubleheader Saturday at home.
