Adams County Emergency Management officials have received the go ahead to replace a warning siren in Berne, along with planning for replacing others in the future all across the county.
The Adams County Council Tuesday okayed the replacement of the Berne siren at a cost of more than $34,000. The County Commissioners then urged the EMA officials to plan for future needs.

Lehrman says the surveys and studies of the county’s needs for emergency notifications will start soon with one simple goal: to keep area residents safe in an emergency.
