The Union Township Lions club recently finished refurbishing and repainting some of the playground equipment at the Union Township Park. They replaced the deck on the merry go round with poly lumber as well as new hardware throughout. They also replaced the chains and hardware on the “witches hat”. They also repainted both pieces of equipment. Last September a charter member, Leo Thieme, passed away and the memorial money given in his memory was used to pay for most of the repairs and updating. The members of the Union Township Lions club would like to thank all of the friends and family of Leo Thieme for their support in helping the Lions club complete this project in Leo’s memory. They also want to thank everyone who supported the Lions club with their fruit and nut sale in December.
