Coming off their season-opening win at Columbia City Wednesday, the Heritage Patriots played in front of the home crowd and swept New Haven 3-0 to get off to a winning start in the first IHSAA-sanctioned season.
Led by Zeke Litchfield’s 14 kills, the Patriots beat their East Allen rivals 25-21, 25-22, 25-13.
Chase Buuck, who was outstanding Wednesday night at Columbia City, led the Patriots with four service aces.

Eli Tigulis set up the Patriot big hitters with 28 assists. He also had eight digs.
Litchfield led the team with nine digs and four blocks.
The two teams will meet again in two weeks in the first annual East Allen tournament. The Patriots will take next week off for spring break before returning to the court on April 9th against Huntington North. They’ll play Homestead on the 11th.
